Park/ing Chicago Studio

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Park/ing is the subject of a project I did as a student participant in the NCARB-Prize winning urban travel Chicago Studio. The project consisted of two parts: master planning collaboratively and architectural design. The master plan is an anti-master plan that utilizes a kit of parts to focus varying solutions on varying sites. And the architectural project consists of an integrated public park and parking garage where the pragmatic form of the parking creates the topography for the park above. The resulting five strips open the garage to the living aspects of the park.
